Valley Youth House Celebrates Expansion in York County with Ribbon Cutting and Open House

Valley Youth House officially marked a new chapter of community impact today with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house at its expanded York County office located at 337 W. Market Street. This expansion signifies a deepened commitment to the agency’s mission of building foundations and shaping futures for young people across South Central Pennsylvania and beyond.

The event brought together agency leadership, community partners, and local advocates to celebrate the increased capacity for life-changing services. The ceremony was kicked off by Sarah O’Brien of the York County Economic Alliance, who led the formal ribbon cutting.

The expanded facility serves as a hub for Valley Youth House’s life-changing work in York, providing a safe and supportive environment where youth can access essential resources. During the program, Tom Harrington, President & Executive Director of Valley Youth House, and Amanda Harden, Vice President of Central Programming at Valley Youth House, highlighted how this larger space will enhance the delivery of critical programs, including:

“Together with our partners, we’re creating pathways to success for young people across South Central Pennsylvania,” said Amanda Harden, emphasizing that the growth is a direct response to the community’s needs.

The event was attended by several distinguished guests and elected officials, including Representative Carol Hill-Evans, County Commissioner Doug Hoke, and Vice President Commissioner Scott Burford, all of whom were recognized for their continued support of York County’s youth.

The highlight of the morning featured remarks from Sandy, a youth speaker who shared a personal perspective on the positive impact Valley Youth House has had on her own life. Following the formal remarks and ribbon cutting, guests were invited to tour the new office space and enjoy a brunch catered by local partners.
