Funding Futures

Event Info

As a foster care youth graduates high school and moves to college, trade school, or the workforce, they often face a challenging task. They’re beginning a completely new chapter of their life full of unknowns and expenses and the future can seem intimidating.

That’s where Valley Youth House steps in.

At Valley Youth House, we do everything we can to ensure young people have the support and community they need to achieve a successful future, whether that means pursuing higher education, a career, or tradework after completing high school. That’s why we are asking for your support to provide laptops, textbooks, tuition assistance, dorm/apartment supplies, and meals for our graduating high schoolers.

What does it mean for someone when they can’t handle those expenses?

“Imagine there’s an on and off switch. When the switch is off, you don’t know what to do with yourself. You can’t focus on your social life, you can’t focus on doing your classes when you don’t know how to pay for things. I hate to always bring it back to money but it truly creates a level of anxiety that is nearly impossible to describe when you don’t know how to pay for expenses. It’s like the on/off switch, and when it’s off it’s hard to function, hard to be normal and cheery and happy, and the folks around you aren’t going through what you’re going through. I just don’t have to worry.” – Jason, Funding Futures recipient

Give a guiding hand to a student in need today, like we all want for our own children.
