Penntex Construction Donates $400,000 to Valley Youth House's Camp Fowler Through EITC Program

Valley Youth House is excited to announce a $400,000 contribution from Penntex Construction through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program. This generous gift will directly support the STEM and arts camps at Camp Fowler, Valley Youth House’s therapeutic and adventure-based camp in Orefield, PA. Camp Fowler provides an adventurous, supportive environment for young campers to heal and grow through evidence-based experiential programming. With Penntex Construction’s substantial support, the camp will enhance its services, expand access to more youth, and continue its legacy of fostering resilience, confidence, and community.

“Penntex has long been a champion for youth in our region,” said Tom Harrington, President & Executive Director at Valley Youth House. “This investment in Camp Fowler reflects their dedication to creating opportunities that transform lives. We are deeply grateful for their partnership and commitment.”

Penntex is also donating their services as the construction management partner for Camp Fowler’s new Carter Family Center, a state-of-the-art recreation and education facility that will provide dynamic spaces for learning, wellness, and community engagement. Set to open in Spring 2025, the Carter Family Center will serve as a hub for campers to build skills, develop connections, and experience transformational growth in a welcoming, modern environment. In addition to donating their team’s time and expertise as the construction manager for the project, Penntex has helped secure support from partners, suppliers and subcontracts contributing to the ability to complete the 5,000 square-foot facility entirely through philanthropic partnerships in our community.

“Penntex is proud to support Valley Youth House and the incredible work being done at Camp Fowler,” said James (Jim) W. Hoolehan, PE, President at Penntex Construction. “As the Project Leadership of the Carter Family Center, we’ve seen firsthand the passion and dedication that drives this organization. It’s an honor to contribute to a project that will leave a lasting impact on the lives of so many young people.”
