For the past two years, Tiara has been a part of Valley Youth House’s Certified Peer Specialist program. During this time, she has uncovered new strengths and gained a deeper understanding of herself. The program’s group activities have given Tiara opportunities to challenge herself, stepping out of her comfort zone to confront fears and embrace new experiences.

Through tools like crisis management training and strength-based assessments, Tiara has not only set meaningful goals, but also celebrated the milestones of her growth into adulthood. One of her proudest achievements this year was registering to vote and participating in her first presidential election. She dedicated time to researching candidates, submitting her voter registration paperwork, and making her voice heard. This moment gave Tiara a profound sense of control and ownership over her future.
