Program Info
Valley Youth House’s School-Based Counseling Program works to remove the barriers that often prevent students from accessing mental health support. The program follows a “no turn-away” approach, meaning no referrals, diagnoses, insurance information, or out-of-pocket costs are required for students to receive services in the school setting. Counselors meet youth where they are, tailoring support to each student’s individual needs.
In select schools and with funding from the Lehigh and Northampton County Departments of Drug and Alcohol, school-based counselors also implement the evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) and Bounce Back programs to help students build skills to manage stress and process trauma in healthy ways.
Valley Youth House extends its sincere gratitude to the schools and school districts that partner with us to deliver essential school-based services to students and families. Your dedication to student well-being and your commitment to creating supportive school environments make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people every day. We are truly grateful for your partnership in advancing our mission to empower youth and strengthen families.
